Sixteen months ago, on returning home from a trip, I found the name Curves on my caller ID. At that time I had no idea of what Curves is, but I certainly know now. I returned the call, visited the Perkasie Curves, and the rest is history. Thus began a whole new adventure in my life. In the last sixteen months I have lost 89 pounds, seventy-two of which since joining Curves. Four months before registering at Curves, I began following the Weigh Watchers program. From five years ago, I am down 120 pounds from my high weight of 292 pounds. Before Curves, weight loss and maintenance were always a struggle, but Curves has given balance to my quest. Being a seventh grade teacher and working with eleven and twelve year olds takes much stamina. The more out of shape I became, the more difficult my job was. Often, I felt myself breathing heavily and sweating profusely after mild exercise. All of the physical trauma to my body ended as I started getting in shape with the Curves program. The staff at Curves is positive and full of encouragement. They have experienced, seen and heard it all so I felt good talking to them and getting tips on health issues. . .
